advice on a good mechanic-Ottawa-Gatineau area
I am not sure if I am in the right forum section but would need some assistance from anyone who can help. I own a 1991 Ducati 900ss (with the white wheels and frame) that I purchased new in 1991. I haven't used the bike in over two years due to expenses etc. I would like to start using the bike again next summer 2013 and am looking for an excellent mechanic in the Ottawa-Gatineau area which would be able to adjust the valves, clean and rejet the carburators, change the timing belts, etc. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the information that you sent to me Francis. Was unable to respond by e-mail. System would not allow me to do so probably because I am not a registered member of the DOCC.

Thanks Jean-Guy. I won't have any work done on this bike until next spring. I have to decide on whether I should sell it as is or have it fixed. Fixing it means selling my Suzuki and using that to pay for the restoration of the Ducati. Will stay in touch. Thanks

Ravduc,
Have you consider taking a wrench in hand and fixing it yourself? You shoudn't have to sell a bike to fix another one. These things are not that difficult to work on!

In Ottawa, I can heartily recommend Jon Snadden. He's fastidious, reasonably priced and can do a wide range of work on Ducatis from basic tune-ups to engine work and machining. He's also an Ohlins tech.
You can get him at 613-262-0568 or jon_snadden@hotmail.com
