Daytona 200 party

Postby Ken L » Fri Feb 25, 2011 1:34 pm

O.K.

I'm organizing a DOCC & friends Daytona Party. It will be in Whitby, most likely at the Jack Astors in the AMC complex. Right near our new GP Bikes location. We'll be supplying door-prizes, and hopefully others will chip in too. (please let me know a.s.a.p if you have wrangled something from a 'sponsor/donor').

The race is on Speed, with coverage starting at 1.00.

I figure meet up for some chow around noon. Or even better, check out our new store first, then food!!!

Door prize draw immediately after the race, around 3.30.

I'll confirm the restaurant a.s.a.p.

Please reply here so I can get an idea of numbers. Last year we had around 70.

Ken.

Hi Ken, Count me in for the Daytona bash. I missed the bike shows this year so it would be nice to catch up with all before the season gets under way.

When is the race being run?

Richard.

Ken, count me in.

I'll talk to you separately about draw prizes. Maybe at a wing night?

Ah...I am missing this one. I will be at Disneyland...I would rather spend quality time at JA watching Daytona...

Hi Ken, Linda and I will be there. Hopefully she'll get her cast off on Friday and be able to walk somewhat human like. Gee it's only been since November...
We'll be stopping in at the new store first. See you there.

What a mess, cutting off live coverage of the race. SPEED should be raked over the coals on that one...

How did that go over with the fans at the DOCC parties :?:

I can't speak for everyone who was at Jack Astors in Whitby but... SUCKS just isn't a strong enough word for me.
Seeing as I've been labeled a sh*t disturber who can and does find fault with everything I'll refrain from saying anything further re: Speed's lack of judgment etc.

I will say a hardy thank you to Ken though for organizing this event and the door prizes.

Luckily, knowing that Speed likes to mess with their broadcasts, I had already set the DVR to record at 11pm and midnight. I just watched 'part two' of the race, and WOW! I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but it was extremely exciting!

D*mn, I missed it :!:

But, to their credit, at least they showed the conclusion. Hopefully they'll show it again at some point
