Cabot Trail - June 27-29
Funny, all I see in the parking lot are 4 BMWs...
This is Stephanie's bike, on the Newfoundland trip.
People keep pointing out the spray washes, assuming it needs washing. There'll be lots of time for that when we get home.

Well we sure had a great ride today, photos to be posted later but these are special!
This guy was grazing on the side of the road, oblivious to all the people who stopped to gawk, until a few loud cruisers went by and spooked him.
He was an awesome looking animal. Picture was taken right on the Cabot Trail.

We're in Moncton tonight, it was a very interesting ride down from Baddeck:
1. Stopped in Antigonish for a Tim's and fuel - met a great guy from Minneapolis on a BMW R1200GS who had been visiting the family in Newfoundland who had opened their home to him when he'd been stranded during the 9-11 crisis.
2 - While we were talking to him another guy wanders over - he has recognized my bike from the photo Mike_D posted in this thread - Hi to Jamie848 who has just joined the forum and who wanted to ride up to Baddeck yesterday but there was too much rain.
3 - I've been wanting to ride 337 north out of Antigonish for a while, so we head up there knowing we only have to make it to Moncton tonight - its a great ride, sort of like a mini-Cabot Trail with the hills and switchbacks - but the wind got so strong I could hardly stay on the road. We struggled around the cape and continued along the coast until we got to the 245 that took us back to Antigonish - the alternative was to continue fighting the winds along the coast. 80kms and we ended up at exactly the same place in Antigonish! It was fun though, we'll try that route again on a less windy day.
So, onto the boring transCanada - it started pouring when we crossed the border into New Brunswick. I sure hope it stays dry tomorrow....
I hope the rest of the Baddeck gang had/is having a safe journey home.
See you next year!
