I just replaced the stock plates with a new set of Barnett plates and the clutch does not rattle in neutral any more. I am still using the original clutch basket. Hopefully this will not change as the plates wear. The original plates had 65,000 km on them and the tabs were very bent (see other post about clutch wear).
