Doug Weaver

Postby paul w » Sun Nov 23, 2014 6:06 pm

I learned this morning that my brother Doug passed away last night. During his time with the DOCC he renewed some important friendships and made some great new friends. After spending his life racing everything from karts to funny cars and you name it with four wheels during the 60's and 70's on the road courses, he settled in to thrashing his 900 at the track rallies. Maybe he didn't know it was his last hurrah but some days he did ride like it, kind of the way he approached a lot of life. He really enjoyed the track rallies and the people, thank you to everyone that made those days so enjoyable for him.

Paul,

Thank you for posting this sad news we miss him and his indomitable spirit of riding the dam wheels off of anything that happened to have wheels. We are happy to have known Doug and in my case it remains a strong desire to ride as well as an old timer can safely go. He was smooth and very fast, a gentleman and above all a dedicated sportsman in the true sense of the word. We will remember.

Sincerely

Francis McDermott

Doug was a friend for many years he enjoyed life and all that had to offer!
It was great to see him back on the track on his 900 always looking for that little extra.
You will always be with is!
Thanks Doug

I am saddened to hear of your loss Paul, my thoughts are with you and your family.
I did not know Doug as long as most of you, but I will remember that big smile of his at the track and the words of supportive he gave me. Good memories

He will be missed. Condolences. Perhaps he and Jim Wood can research some tracks in the great beyond

Hi Paul,
Anne Marie and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Doug. He was a true gentleman on and off the track. His positive attitude and enthusiasm will be missed by all who were blitzed by "the guy with the maple leaf on his leathers".
Rest in peace Doug
