Cleaning Motorcycles Leathers

My leathers needs a good cleaning.

My local drycleaner uses a complany called "Suede Masters" out of the Toronto area. The offer local pick-up and delivery (here in Sarnia even) and the cost should be around $100.

Has anyone used this company and/or do you have any recommendations?

judging by the time elapsed from you original post im guessing you have looked after the leathers in question . BUT did you try john bickell or track side cuts ?
even if they don't provide such service maybe they would know or recommend some where ?

I didn't get any feedback so I figured I might as well find out for myself.

I sent them out a week ago, I should have them back next week. I will report on how well it worked out when I get them back.

PS, the reason for the cleaning is not because I scared the **** out of myself! They have been hanging in the barn unused for 18 months and they were starting to smell like the old barn, which is to say, a not very nice musty, moldy, kind of smell and unfit for polite company.

Hello Dave,
Did you try your leathers on before you sent them out to be cleaned? You know how leathers shrink in the middle when you leave them in the closet.I have heard that spilling beer on them and then sleeping in them makes them swell up again, although I have never tried it.

My leathers haven't been worn in over a year and when I tried them on last fall, let's just say that there were "issues" and that didn't include the body armour.

However, I did try on the jacket at the dry cleaners just for interest sake. I could actually get the zipper done up without having to take too deep a deep breath! So maybe the extreme cold that they were exposed to in the barn helped. Or maybe there was a whole herd of racoons snuggled up in them over the winter (they did smell a bit funky) that stretched them out. Or maybe it has something to do with the 3 times a week in the gym since February. Naw - must be the racoons!

Here's to hoping that they smell better when I get them back.

Just put a couple of car air fresheners in yer leathers before going out for a ride in them !
