As you can see, voltage regulator failures are still an issue with the Panigale.

Please do not be alarmed folks, the smoke is just from the standard Ducati patented Leg/thigh cooker. The smoke is just from its "pre-heat" mode, one of four ranging from "cooked", "over cooked" and my personal favourite "why did I ride it all day, I'm literally cooked" all at no additional cost

The official announcement by then CEO Gabriele Del Torcio that all future Ducati models will be equipped with Lucas electrical systems, the presentation foreshadowing the ensuring smoke clouds that will ultimately follow. The fact that the former Ducati CEO was named CEO of Alitalia is only a coincidence...
