Tail Chop Question
I'm thinking about chopp'n the tail off my monster, but before I went ahead I was curious as to whether a chopped tail is illegal in Ontario. For instance, is there a law that requires the furthest back point of the bike to be the tail and not the rear wheel OR might there be a law requiring rear fenders??? I've checked the HTA and the transport canada website but haven't been able to find anything. Any thoughts appreciated. Tks!!

Re: Tail Chop Question
Got a response on another forum.. I think the pertinent section of the HTA is:
Mudguards
(3) Every motor vehicle and every trailer shall be equipped with mudguards or fenders or other device adequate to reduce effectively the wheel spray or splash of water from the roadway to the rear thereof, unless adequate protection is afforded by the body of the motor vehicle or trailer or by a trailer drawn by the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 66 (3).
Very vague and I'm sure can be interpreted to mean that tail chops are illegal. Sucks. Especially since the rule itself seems to be worried about causing splash on the rear of the vehicle.. which I don't get. Why does the government care if I get a bit of rooster tail?

Re: Tail Chop Question
So doesn't the hugger, that's attached to the swingarm, count as a fender ? Tail chop doesn't affect that...
Hey Ute, what's 'Suburban Machinery bars' Can they be seen on a website
