US Desmo Ducks Fly South (DFS)
Anybody up for a marathon. DFS is September 18, 19 and 20. I am thinking about heading down on the Wednesday and returning on the Monday.
Would anyone be interested in sharing driving and accommodations? I have the truck and trailer required.

Dave, DON'T DO IT! Wednesday to Monday just isn't long enough!!! There are far too many good roads to explore that you just won't get time for during the rally.
Linda and I got into the habit of leaving the weekend before and staying in places like Maggie Valley, Robbinsville or Dahlonega (where DFS use to be held) for a day or two. You will be so close to the Dragon but you won't want to ride it during the weekend. Better to do it, the Cherahala and the others mid week.
Like I said, one time we stayed in Robbinsville for two nights. We got up the first morning and road the Cherahala over to Tellico Plains and back. Then headed down 129 to Topton. We jogged up 19 to Hahya and then along to 64. Went over to and then up 28 to Deals Gap. (There is a short jog back along 19.) We rode the Gap once and then took a long break. I rode the Gap a second time and then we headed back into Robbinsville and a much needed shower. That was a full day of riding for Linda.
Jim will be in Italy for the World Presidents Meeting so I'm not sure what Clyde will have in store for rally goers this year.
I'd love to go with ya but all my holidays are spoken for. Besides, I gave Linda tickets to see Styx for her birthday and the concert is on the 19th. Have fun and say hi to the regulars for us. We be back next year!

Thanks for the comments, Steve.
At this point, I may not be going at all. Something to do with work intruding on life and the cost of the trip itself if I have to go solo.
