Master Cylinder Rebuild Kits?
Does anyone know of a source of kits to rebuild Ducati master cylinders? The rear on Stephanie's 2001 750SS seems to need attention but the local dealer says kits are not available, only new ones for $104.
This unit is not made by Brembo or some other large company, is it? I don't have it here so I can't check right now. The funny part is that the rear brake is so seldom used that it's been like this for some time but we hadn't noticed...

The dealer is correct. Rebuild kits are not available from Ducati for those or the front coffin style master cylinders. Bruce at BCM did have some kits though that was a few years ago. You may want to talk to them.
If the cylinder is seriously leaking (the piston and seal are completely worn out), you may be out of luck but I've had good results just disassembling, cleaning the internals (with an aerosol brake cleaner) and lightly honing the bore with fine emery. The seals reseat almost immediately with no further leakage. I've done a few like this and haven't heard of any problems afterwards. Works well on the OEM clutch slave too.
