Kirk,
I did the 853 kit last year, it is well worth the extra oomph!
I purchased a kit from bcm for between 8 or 900. You must send your old barrels in exchange for the new ones
The kit consisted of barrels, pistal pistons, rings, wrist pins and clips.
Base gaskets and head gaskets.
Dealing with BCM was easy as they know the bikes so well, just tell them what year and model they will make sure you get the right parts.
What you gain in torque makes the bike a lot easier to , not quite so many gear changes (grattan).
You will need to find a good shop to do the work... or do it yourself. That is what I did.
You may want to invest in ajustable cam pullies, there is a good gian with proper cam timing.
Or ..... find a 996 motor, it may be the cheapest way to go!!!
good luck

Paul thanks for the reply, my brother Jack and I are thinking about the 853 upgrade as we keep hearing excellent things about them. I believe we're going to ride them as is this year and see how it goes. Perhaps we'll see you at Grattan again this summer and we can ask a few more questions.
Thanks!
Kirk
