999 Clutch noise

Postby DFitz » Thu Aug 25, 2005 1:11 am

I have a 03 999, the slave was just replaced under warranty. When you pull away the bike makes a deep vibrating noise that appears to be coming from the clutch.

Don't know for sure, but it sounds like too many hard launches. You can pull it apart & deglaze the plates with 180 grit paper, or sometimes a week or two of being gentle with it will do the work for you.

Thanks, Steve Hicks thinks it is frictions and steels but Goodtimes Centre think it is fine, normal? I will take it in for a second opinion soon and hopefully get it sorted out.

Problems?

Postby DucatiDean » Thu Apr 06, 2006 2:19 pm

Should of bought the 05 Fitzy. I just installed my Termignoni exhaust witht the power commander. What a sound and what a difference. I feel like I've gotten an extra 20 horse on it. As well if you put your hand behind my exhaust when I rev it, it's like a slap to the hand. I also had my seats re-upholstered in black suede. Wait till you see it. Looks very sharp and keeps you planted.
