This thread might be of some help.
Or you can take it to an automotive "alternater and starter" shop.There is one in the KW area that is very good and reasonable.

I found that the starter is almost identical to the one used by Suzuki GS series. I used brushes from a GS 400 I think. Early '80s and up.
Never too much horsepower, never too old to use it!
