Maintenance Costs

Hello everyone,
What am I looking at when it comes to maintenance costs for a '07 Monster 695 per year if I were to ride about 8000km?
Typical stuff that must be done.....not something rare?
Thanx

I guess everyone owns "maintenance-free electric Ducatis"

Or possibly no one who owns a 07 Monster 695 has seen your post yet.

John R.

so you're saying that the cost in maintenance is that drastic between a 620 and 695? I'm sure a few people own a 620 and if it's within a few hundred bucks I will get an idea of what to expect.

thanx to Ken L & p8ntdyou for the PM

Not sure about the "all electronic" modern ducatis, but if you do your own oil changes and can learn to check your valves yourself, maintenance costs should be fairly low. Even adjusting valves on the desmodue is pretty straightforward if you are even slightly mechanically inclined, especially on the monster where access to the exhaust valve on the rear head is excellent.
Oil, filter, time is all you really need to invest. Every few years you can replace the belts (if you are doing 8000 km a year) which is also not all that difficult. Replace other fluids every year or two....
Of course, if you do run into problems that require a dealer's help it can get expensive, so avoid that by learning to take care of the bike yourself. However, given you are posting about an 07 perhaps you want to continue to use the dealer until the warranty expires.
