Replacement Brembo Cylinder For 916
My '95 916 needs a lot of lever pressure on the front brakes, as compared to my RC51. I think I may be able to improve the leverage by installing a new 19X18 Brembo HP radial cylinder. I saw one at the Yoyodyne web site:
Has anyone tried doing this, and if so, what about hooking up the existing brake switch and fluid reservoir?

Well, I can't say for certain - they don't look glazed, but maybe glazing shows no visual indications. I could try a ScotchBrite pad and solvent.
All I know is that I want more bite as I begin to brake. In that respect, my RC's braking is very good. All I need is two fingers unless I'm overcooking it...

Without a doubt the RC's brakes are very good.
If you have money burning a hole in your pocket then the Brembo Radial upgrade is a good go. If you are still runnning the two pad calipers you may want to upgrade them as well.....

There's a hitch - the radial master is incompatible with the stock microswitch. I guess, but haven't chaecked, that it turns on/off mechanically. The radial one needs a banjo pressure switch, and some people I've subsequently e-mailed say that this isn't a good idea for the street. I'm not clear about why they say this.
Maybe I need a less ambitious upgrade??

There is NOTHING wrong with using a banjo style brake switch. Ducati have been using them on their bikes since the 70s. There are Brembo branded switches as well as other brand switches made to work with Brembo. It only matters that you have the room to add one of these switches to either your master cylinder OR your caliper. Not a problem at all.
