748 rocker arms

I heard the chrome flaked off on the 916's. I just had a service done on my 748, and they told me the rocker arms were starting to flake. I didn't replace them this time around, because I was told they were $300 each, and the maintenance itself was quite dear as it was.

I guess if you can afford a Ducati, you have to be able to FIX a Ducati...

I think somebody fed you a load of poo!
The last ones I bought were 45 dollars each(from a dealer), I would get rid of the flaKing rockers now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can get them resurfaced if they are not too bad, I have replaced 10 over the last 11 years. The newest ones are better.... but the most important thing is
1/ maintain proper valve clearance
2 / do not beat on the poor thing until it is up to operating temperature
3/ use a really good oil
The last ones I replaced have been ther for 3 years of nothing but track days
I almost forgot kepp it away from the rev limiter!

Talk to Guy Martin, the stock rockers will just flake again, they never improved the surface treatment of the chrome. Guy charges around 50 per rocker on exchange, and you get nicely re-chromed and heat treated items.
