lock nut source in Newmarket or Toronto area

Postby Gery DiMonte » Sat Dec 23, 2006 9:17 am

Anyone know of a local cource for the lock nuts used to hold on the cam belt tensioner rollers? I've been getting some really silly quotes from shops for something that should be a $.15 item.

The nuts are manufactured by Fuji in Japan. If you can find a Canadian supplier, let us know. I tried every local fastener outlet and none were able (or willing) to supply the nuts.

I'm not sure what Ducati are asking for them, but Desmotimes will sell you a pair for $7 USD.

I made a set using 4140 bar stock and machining a 19mm hex on to it. Then I used black oxide finish on them. What a waste of time!

Just order them from the dealer or online at bikebandit.com and also buy the proper socket. I got mine on ebay with a 3/8 drive.
