Can any body post a schematic for the 6-12 conversion. I am purchasing a Sparx single phase regulator. There are 3 wires coming from the stator. I am not clear on the attachment procedure. Do I connect the 2 yellows together and ground the red center tap,..or do I insulate the red and use the yellow stator wires seperately as the regulator input?? Any info would be appreciated/ Thanks

must be a hard part to locate.
By way of bump I'll keep going.

If I understand correctly, you insulate the red wire that comes from the center tap of the two halves of the stater and leave it disconnected? then you can use the two yellow wires to supply a 12v single phase rectifier regulator. Is that true? Is the sparx unit a shunt regulator or series?

Does anyone know of a series regulator that works in this application?

MotoMike - As far as I can find on the web, Sparx electrical products are distributed by
< http://www.tri-corengland.com > , with products geared mostly toward older Triumphs (but they also have a kit for Yamaha XS650). My choice to try would be < http://www.electrexworld.co.uk >, which seems to have more of a selection and a seemingly 'universal' regulator (RG12) that might fit your needs.

Please let us know what ends up working for you

Mike, your 6v system must work better than mine - I can only get enough light to dimly illuminate the front fender. I just don't ride it at night (or at all right now, it's uninsured lately...) :(
