Gas tank repair
Can anyone recommend a welder in Toronto to repair the tank for my 74 GT. It has a small hairline crack in the centre of the tank about an inch from the seat. I'm thinking it will need a little extra plate in this area as this is where the tank rest on the rubber mounts, otherwise I would just epoxy it.
I filled up yesterday and the smell of gas was overwhelming. I took a peak below the bike to see gas dripping onto the very hot vertical cylinder head. Glad I didn't have a bike-beque.

Re: Gas tank repair
Ross Thompson does excellent work on motorcycle gas tanks and other metal work.
The is not quite in the Toronto area, but he is not too far away. He has worked on 3 of my vintage tanks, in aluminium and steel. Highly recommended.
