Recall letter for imported Ducati's from the US.
Hello there new owner of a 2001 748s. I purchased a ducati from the US and imported the bike recently ..been asked to get a letter stating no recalls on the bike I got an email confirmation from Ducati Italy stating no recalls. But the people at RIV have said not enough now they want me to bring o dealer to have them confirm no recall at a cost of 500 a total ripoff..can anyone give me feedback. On what they did or if I have any recourse.
Thanks.
Thanks.

When I bought my 749 in the U.S., I asked the seller to get the recall clearance from his dealer (no cost) before I picked up the bike. Now that the deal is done it may be too late, but perhaps the seller can ask his dealer to provide the letter even now.
Failing that, you have no other option that I know of.
Good luck,
John

Hello,
This may work ,it may not. Ask Ducati Italy for a letter on letterhead,RIV may not accept a e-mail
To my knowledge they normally will only accept a letter from a Canadian /American dealer.

Hello,
Try this,Call the dealer/dealers in the town/towns closest to the person that you bought the bike off of. Give them the serial #. They may have sold the bike originally. Ask them if they can get you a letter from Ducati North America .Tell them you will pay for it. They may do it for a lot less than $500 .Nothing ventured nothing gained.
