Hello Everyone,
I am a new forum member from Bruce County Ontario. I currently ride a 2008 650 Kawasaki Versys.
I am soon to order a 2011 Multistrada S Touring.
Then I can become a DOCC member.
I have a couple of Questions for the forum members...
- What is the best place to buy in SW Ontario??
I have had good luck with Inglis and they are my closest dealer.
-Does anyone have the GPS option?? Is it worth the cost??
I think it might be wiser to purchase GPS aftermarket.
I plan on getting the rear case and the lowered seat (my wife rides a Versys as well and is interested in the DUC).
Any info would be great!
Thx

Welcome, Muskie
You might like to know that, despite the club's name, ducati ownership is not a requirement of membership. You can join anytime. Also, depending on where you are in the Bruce, you might find that Apex in Waterloo is as close as Inglis. Both good places with whom to deal. Enjoy the Multi.
Watch this summer for Barry Altman's Road Ride.

Hi Muskie and welcome,
You're going to have lots of fun in 2011 with a new Multi. I had the opportunity to ride one last year at Apex and was amazed at the level of performance. The bike seems to do everything very, very well. I can't comment on your GPS question other than to say that as soon as Ducati puts their name on something it magically becomes more expensive. I can live with that when it's their bike building expertise that I'm paying for but when it's stuff that they've just slapped their name on, well, I'm not sure if it's worth it.
As far as dealers go, I can tell you that I've had nothing but excellent service at Apex. I suggest you speak with Colin Lobsinger there. I've bought two bikes from Colin and have all my servicing done at Apex and I've always found them to be honest and fair. Inglis may be equally good but I haven't dealt with them.
It's nice if the closest dealer is also the best one for you but for me, convenience doesn't mean so much if I don't feel comfortable with the dealer and the service I'm getting. It's still winter so you have lots of time to visit dealers and see where you feel most comfortable.
Best of luck.
Aran

Muskie - Is that your name because you fish those big boys?
You are going to have a ball on that 2011 Multi.
Aran - I totally understand your point about good quality & value with many non-ducati parts.
But I hope Ducati does not simply slap their logo on parts. I purchase assuming thay they are insuring a quality product by attaching their name.
I've been wrong before.
